phil foshee asked:
"I plan to prime my car with PPG dplf epoxy primer. Most online articles recommend removing a weld through prior to epoxy primer to prevent adhesion issues. Is this required with your weld through. If no why not? Thanks for your advice Phil foshee"
Joe answered on 10/27/2014:
As I have stated many times before, I am not a gearhead nor am I a body man. I can usually tell you where to find parts, or when they will be here. That being said, personally, the weld-through primer needs to be as prepared as any other primer for adhesion. The last thing you want to do is spend $8,000.00 on a paint job and have it start falling off in the street. Contact a restoration shop and get their opinion. A good one to try is Steel City Classics. Their Number is: 724-777-2680 and talk to Bill.
